Christi has been teaching 5th grade for 19 years. She is in a K-5 building with 365 students. There are 3 5th grade sections with about 25 students in each class. She has a Tier 2 reading group of 8 students who were identified using Fast Bridge as needing work on fluency for about 25 minutes a day. She uses 95% group materials in her fluency group. Time is one of her biggest issues and the number of students in the group. Many have been in reading intervention for several years. Christi would like to find other instructional techniques for helping her students become more fluent other than simply reading a passage over and over. She thinks that her goal will be about trying some new instructional techniques for this but will bring some data and an idea for a goal to the next session on Feb. 9.
