Coachee Note 1:
Nicole and I had a great conversation around the lack of background knowledge and vocabulary that her student have because of their homelife – many single parents or students living with grandparents. This makes the job hard and a teacher must be intentional and explicit with instruction.
Nicole’s goal is going to be based around vocabulary and figurative language while reading The Phantom Tollbooth. She is going to complete a screener then determine an end goal. When that is complete she will email me her goal and action steps.
