Meeting 2: 9/29 @ 7:30 (changed to 3:00 due to sick kid)
Brynna asked for help with the Mod 2 assignment with the quadrants. She used AI to help create the quadrants and she was hesitant but that is the same thing MAP does with skills so I told her I didn’t think that how she was using AI was a problem.
She went through her students and I could tell she was really digging into how they were placed in quadrants. She noticed that she has some very good readers that are ready to be pushed into the top strand of the rope but also has a few (mostly already identified) that have decoding errors. She mentioned she wished their were more pull out/push in for the students who already can decode and are needing more than the basic core curriculum.
At first she had the Math MAP scores as well but since that is not assessing literacy skills, I suggested she removed that piece of data. She is also working on completing a QPS on each student for her boy diagnostics. So far, she noted that how they are scoring with the QPS is aligning with the MAP score and CBM (ORF).
I asked her to use her data to begin to create a goal based on her quadrants and new knowledge she can add to her instruction.Â
She seems to be struggling with keeping up with the assignments. We will not meet again for 2 weeks but I told her to reach out if she has any questions.
