Course update:So far, so good. Just finished Mod 3No big AHAs or Oh NOs just yet. Since she has been a primary teacher for many years, many of these ideas aren’t new but have been presented through a different lens.Prevention vs Intervention – that was a new way of looking at small-group tiered time and really stuck with her
Fastbridge completion, Phonics Blast and UFLI, breaking up into smaller groups with the instructional coach
Tell me how the ELA block is set up?Not liking the CKLA resource. They are in their final year of this resource and will be adopting a new one next year.120 minutes on ELA instruction (includes writing and grammar)Currently using Phonics Blast and UFLI, for small-group interventionOnly 2 teachers per grade level makes it difficult to differentiate as she did in her previous school. Currently, they are without an instructional para so the Instructional Coach is working with a small group, but the group sizes are still not manageable or desirable.
Thinking about a student data-centered goal: Christy is going to revisit her beginning-of-the-year student data and start identifying an area of need and a goal.
