Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Anna is a 3rd grade teacher that is in her 3rd year of teaching.  She has also taught Kindergarten and 1st grade.  She is from Olathe and did her student teaching in the school she now teaches.  She is a K-State grad and did a lot of her undergrad work during COVID.  She had 19 students in her class with very diverse needs.  5 students with high intervention needs, 3 who need work in fluency, 4 EL students with 2 on consult and the rest of the students are at or above grade level.

Her Ela block consists of one hour of whole group reading (Wit and Wisdom) that is broken up by lunch.  Next is DRI reading groups for 20 minutes.  After that, is whole group phonics with 95% group for about 30 minutes along with a 30 min. chunk for MTSS interventions.

She has started work on her class Modules and finds that she is familiar with the content and is excited to get started.  She has finished the pre-module and is beginning module 1.  She hopes that her work with primary grades will help her understanding of the word recognition modules.

I asked her to start to think about a problem of practice to set a goal with a group of students.  We discussed some options and I will send her some example goals to start thinking of ideas.  We will write the goal together next time.

Next Steps

To Do: Send summary of meeting. Set up next Zoom meeting. Send Anna example goal sheet.
