Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Glenda discussed what they had covered in their class earlier in the week. We talked about some options for a DREAM goal for this course. She was wanting to make her goal about reading comprehension of informational text. She is feeling some pressure from the district and principal to increase reading comprehension scores. As we talked, she mentioned that she was beginning to pilot a program to help students identify the main idea and important details of an informational text in order to write a summary statement. She decided that she would like to learn the strategies to help students develop the skills to identify the main idea and supporting details in order to write a summary state with her reading intervention class. She is going to decide exactly what she wants for a goal, how to collect data, and exactly what she wants her students to learn in her instruction by the next coaching meeting.

Next Steps

To Do: Finalize a goal, decide how to collect data to show improvement, and what steps are needed to reach the goal by the next coaching session.
