Coach Log Note 1:
Get to know you: 7th year of teaching. First year she taught Spanish only. Now she teaches same students half day in Spanish and half day in English. Morning: Math English, ELA with reading stations. Science in Spanish. PM ELA in Spanish. Writing 3 weeks in English, 3 weeks in Spanish.
Uses Kagan Structures in the classroom. Finds accountability difficult in the classroom. Feels like Phonemic Awareness is missing in the classroom. Suggested using Heggerty resource.
Uses a Data-Notebook in the classroom. Finds the type of data she is collecting to be frustrating and not useful in guiding instruction. We will work on developing a more “usable” data notebook for next year.
Coursework-covered the quadrant model. Found it very interesting.
