Kylie has been a kindergarten teacher in Topeka for about 8 years. She previously taught in Salina and Bonner Springs. She has two kids – high school age. She is a learner and has taken as many courses as she can to move on the pay scale. She loves to learn.
She teaches a lot in small groups and wants to ensure that her students are learning with her, but sometimes isn’t sure that she is bridging students into the next developmental level (e.g., moving from letter/sound to decoding to meaning, etc.) Is she using the right materials, etc.
In addition, she wants to make sure that the students who are at centers or stations are engaged and learning while they aren’t with her. She wants to know how to evaluate the effectiveness of that time in her classroom.
We will discuss goal setting during our next meeting.
