Nicole shared with me her take aways from the recent class and what she learned from Carla. Nicole and her colleagues have begun to look ahead in the Wit and Wisdom lessons at possible tier 2 vocabulary words that will need to be intentionally taught. We talked about exposure and practice must be both listening and student production.
Next year she is going use the Writing Revolution in her classroom. She noted many things in the Grammar Project that she can also add to her ELA time to strengthen both vocabulary and writing.
Students are finishing their character snapshots for the upcoming Fine Arts Night. Nicole is going to share one with me. She was extremely pleased with the figurative language that was demonstrated in the students’ writing.
