Notes
Sheri obtained the book, The Writing Revolution 2.0 and has read through chapter 4 of the book. As she is reading, she is planning out her instruction for next school year on teaching her students how to write a 5 sentence paragraph. At this point, Sheri shared with me some of the sentence writing activities that she has decided to implement into her instruction. She has made a tentative plan for what she would like to teach each quarter of next year. She is well aware that she will need to move at a pace that her students can master what she is teaching but finds it helpful to have a general idea of how to start the instruction and approximately what needs to be covered by different points in the school year. Sheri has a great grasp on how to start with simple sentences and activities and continue to add to those activities in order to build the confidence and knowledge in order to help her students become effective writers. Not only was Sheri thinking about how to help her students in this process, but she was also thinking of ways to share what she is learning with other teachers in her school.
