Through July 2026 I will learn and apply structured literacy concepts and skills in the Foundations of the Science of Reading course with a minimum of 85% mastery to enhance my capacity in supporting and supervising the development of a system of literacy instruction

Coach Log Note 1:

Prior to our meeting, Ryan participated in the Check-In with Dr. Carlson today. He shared that he has gained much insight in to his instructional leadership role in supporting the literacy development of students in his school.  Additionally, he feels that the teachers are providing services in keeping with the tenets of structured literacy.  He noted that he appreciated various elements during an observation this week.

Module 2: completed using Fastbridge data

Module 3 – to be incorporated in an observation for  Module 12

Module 4 – observation completed this week on a phonemic awareness lesson

Module 5 – will teach a phonics lesson

Module 6 – fluency observation (complete?)

Module 7/8 – professional discussion scheduled for Tuesday

Mod 9/10 – a second professional discussion to be scheduled

Mod 11/12 – writing lesson to be scheduled that incorporates Module 3 oral language.

Begin to plan for an instructional leadership goal to be addressed through the next school year.

He is scheduled to each one student – Module 5 phonics and Module 12 writing incorporating oral language

Ryan shared that his lens is different now as he understands more about data and literacy – he expresses validation of his staff and their competencies
