Goal Information
Date: April 9, 2026Attainment Scale:
Starting Point:

Midpoint:
Review Lesson 8-13's Deep Dive/ Direct Assessment vocabulary words (trudged, hobbled, hurried, sped, rushed, cooperate), and determine if there are other activities, other than the Frayer model, is the best activity to use for students for them to have a deep understanding of those words.
Target Goal:
By the end of April, Melanie will deepen vocabulary knowledge (especially those listed in the Deep Dive and Direct Assessment List) of her students in the Good Eating unit of Wit and Wisdom, by utilizing vocabulary strategies suggested in the unit (mainly the Frayer model), but striving to include other vocabulary activities to more effectively engage students throughout the 24 lessons with the end result being that students integrate these words into their vocabulary as well as performing well on the vocabulary section of the Unit Assessment (which will be given after this class is over).
Notes
Melanie is starting Lesson 22 this week. The word web outline she created in SeeSaw for her class for lessons 18-19 went really well. The final Book, Good Enough to Eat, seems like it’s a good book to conclude this unit as the vocab words from the beginning lessons circle back in this book.
In terms of vocab activities, she is going to do a quiz-trade-match up game with the words from these final lessons along with ones from previous lessons as a review.
We also looked at the end of unit writing prompt and discussed some ways to massage it abit in order to provide more opportunities for students to use the vocabulary words and activities from throughout the unit.
