Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Reba Mathew and I met on Tuesday, April 21, to review progress on the new goals which were set after our last meeting.  Reba is a Special Education teacher and is using her IEP goals as the goals for this project.

Reba and I met last Wednesday, the 15th to set a strategy for the goals she is pursuing.  Unfortunately, due to activities in the school, she has only been able to meet with the students once since.  Reba is working on improving comprehension by having the students read the book Stuart Little which includes comprehension questions at the end of each chapter.  Specifically, she is working with the students on sequencing and finding details in the story.

One session was conducted since our last meeting. Reba did an introduction to the book, including a pre-read, a picture walk and a  discussion of what they believe the book will be about.  They read through Chapter 1 and answered the questions at the end of the chapter.

We discussed strategies that Reba could use to specifically teach sequencing including the using of sequencing cards.

We will meet again on April 30 and will discuss progress toward the goal.
