by Miki Herman

Session Time: 03/04/2026 11:00 pm | Phase: Take Action | Session Length: 0:40

Goals

By the end of April, Ashley will deepen vocabulary knowledge (especially those listed in the Deep Dive and Direct Assessment List) of her students in the Good Eating unit of Wit and Wisdom, by utilizing vocabulary strategies suggested in the unit (mainly the Frayer model), but striving to include other vocabulary activities to more effectively engage students throughout the 24 lessons with the end result being integration of these words into their vocabulary as well as doing well on the Unit Assessment (which will be given after the completion of this course).
Stage: One-Quarter Point
Progress Data:
  • Ashley completed vocabulary activities for Lesson 1 (digest, system) using the Frayer model. She also included the word 'nourish'. Although it's not listed as a Deep Dive word, it is part of the essential question for this Unit. We did a modified Frayer Model for this word - leaving one box blank for students to be able to come back to and write examples of things that give them nourishment/are nourishing.
