Notes
REFLECT AND RECOMMIT
- Check-in
Kaylee is finished with finals, has been home, and is now back at school for the summer session. Lori has completed Fastbridge and QBA. Today they finished up “Camping Week,” which she said was crazy, but fun! Her summer plans include traveling to Long Beach to start a cruise, going to a resort in Mexico, and going on an Alaskan cruise!
- Course
Complete
- Goal(s) Met?  YES
Sophia and Delta improved in all four areas on the fluency rubric.
She successfully utilized Word Webs and Create-a-Story.
- To what do you attribute your success?
(see previous logs)
- Is there anything you would have done differently?
NO
- What new learning was significant?
She said that she knew quite a bit about the concepts covered, but she gained/learned new strategies.
syntax, comprehension, vocabulary
- What is something you learned about yourself? Your students?
She will continue to utilize Wit and Wisdom as her required resource, but she said, “I can’t just follow the script.” She plans to “do right by myself and the kids” and supplement, utilizing a deeper understanding of each aspect of the reading rope. She said this course was, “a healthy wake-up call.” She plans to go back to her standards.
- What does taking this course mean for your work next year?
(see above)
- When you consider our coaching times together, what things were helpful? Not helpful?
She said our sessions had been great and extremely helpful! She appreciated resources I pointed out from the modules and fcrr.org, “guiding me into areas to explore.”
- Final Word from Coachee:
“Thank you! You are smart and dedicated, and I appreciated getting to know you better and the connection we shared.”
I said how glad I was that we had both “lobbied” for this pairing, and what respect I had for her as an educator. I’ve subbed in her room and appreciated her thoughtful planning and the culture she has created in her room, but of course, when I’m subbing for her, she’s not there! It was nice to do this work face-to-face.
