Cassie has been working with Addie this year on her decoding deficits and is now focusing on the CVCe phonics pattern. She is hoping to itegrate more strategic methods within the UFLI curriculum to increase Addie's rate of learning.
Target Goal:
Addie will score 90% or above on level 5 of the PSI phonics survey.
Notes
Cassie had been working with Addie on the CVCe phonics pattern. Before Spring Break Addie had become more accurate in her decoding, but was still not automatic in her reading of the words. I had made some speed drills for her targeting the CVCe pattern before Spring Break and Addie had really responded to charting her speed and progress. She became much more fluent in her single word decoding.
Cassie had been interested in Comprehension as her next goal. I had sent her a rubric from th 3 minute Reading Assessment book. She made her own rubric worksheet based on that assessment. She even bought her own book! We will enter her new goal next week based on comprehension.
