Goals

By 2/26/26, Shea will teach decoding strategies (along with the 95% group intervention materials) to her 2nd grade intervention group to improve their reading of CVCe words.
Stage: Target Goal

Goal Information

Date: February 12, 2026

Attainment Scale:
Starting Point:

Shea used the data from the Phonics survey PSI level 5 to identify the phonics feature that should be the instructional focus. She will record a lesson of teaching this skill, so we can discuss the students' response on 2/26.

Target Goal:

Shea would like the students to score 90% or higher on the level 5 of the PSI to reach this goal.

Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Shea had sent me a video of her target group using the Chip Kit from the 95% group for intervention of he CVCe phonics pattern. The routine is very evidenced based and well structured with I DO, WE DO, and YOU DO parts of the lesson. The students knew the color of the chips for each type of sound (consonant, short vowel, long vowel, consonant blend, etc.) They were able to manipulate the chips and then spell by writing the letters for the sounds. The students were engaged and  able to follow the sequenced learing and do he YOU DO effectively.

The group has met their goal and She will be considering Syntax as her next target of instruction.
