Notes
We cut this meeting short as Holly was in Wichita with her sister, who is in the hospital. She wanted to go ahead with our meeting. She has finished the modules and the application assignments. She took the post-test and said she thought it was easier than the pre-test. We talked about how that was the purpose and demonstrated how much she had learned. I asked what her takeaways were from the course that supported her with her 3-year-old students. She said she has a better understanding of teaching literacy and knows she is giving richer literacy lessons for her students as she learned more from the course. She also realizes that she is supporting literacy more than she initially thought she was, because it does not look the same as it did when she first taught. With 3-year-olds, she models lessons and develops oral language that supports their literacy journey.
