Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Muzzy Pacing Guide 6th Grade – Level 1

Sheri was focused on preparing a writing framework for her 6th grade students and used The Writing Revolution 2.0 as the basis for her instruction and framework. After working on this framework all summer, Sheri found out the the district was wanting to adopt another ELA curriculum. This caused her some frustration but felt like she could adapt her framework to any required curriculum. Sheri was surprised to learn in her class that many other teachers were having difficulty with writing instruction in their classes also. She especially learned a lot from Melody Gatti’s presentation on interactive read alouds and another lesson how to teach vocabulary effectively to students. Sheri repeatedly expressed her appreciation for this program. She especially appreciated the ability to learn on your own and the ability to bounce ideas off of a mentor and coach. She liked hearing from other participants in her class. Sheri said that she is much better prepared to teach her ELA classes this year.
