Goals
Through explicit, systematic and cumulative instruction, I will support vocabulary and reading comprehension development across content areas, by:
• Connecting the new content to previous learning
• Modeling concepts or procedures in a step-by-step manner and includes “think alouds”
• Encouraging the student to verbalize the strategies in use.

Coach Log Note 1:
Erin and I discussed her long range goal to incorporate new learning and skills from the course. We walked through various strategies she applied throughout the semester. She has been told that her move to third grade for next year is confirmed. She may reach out about phonics instruction next year. I encouraged her to do so. Erin indicated that although she was resistant at the start of the course, she enjoyed and valued the experience.
