Target Goal:
By May, 2026, the teacher will select a content area module (Morphology) and identify two strategies from the course (Word Sort and Word Matrix from module) to explore and implement in the classroom and discuss with the coach: 1) what they tried, 2) how it went, 3) student response, 4) own reflections, 5) connections to their work.
Notes
During a personal check-in, Leslea said that she was, “tired!” but the year is going well.
The course was all finished before our previous call!
I stated that our purpose today was to discuss her student goal (her teacher goal was met previously).
She reported that all three of her students got 14/16, which was the goal! Not easy, considering that these were here ELL SPED kids and the words were from The Phantom Tollbooth!
She attributed this success to: she kept reteaching and adding on new words, she tied all the voca bulary work to the story, and it was fun! I added that I thought the advance preparation she had done had also had a significant influence on her success. She said this was the first time she has taught vocabulary and morphology all together. Her students are truly showing progress!
