Notes
During a personal check-in, Amanda shared that Georgia had a virus last week and she ius wrapping up her work in the library.
She has taken all of the tests and scored 86% on the Final. She is thankful that Dr. Myers provided more videos (as opposed to having to find them) and her group is scheduled for discussion for the Application Tasks.
I stated that since we had already celebrated the achievement of her student goal, today we would be talking about her teacher goal.
She told me about the Tier 2 words she identified in the book she was using with some students, The Beast in Mrs. Rooney’s Room. In addition, she told me about the way she had instructed/utilized the Frayer model for those words. On Monday, she taught them the use of the model. On Tuesday, they did some together with teacher guidance. She is scaffolding them to be able to fill them in on their own.
Note: She scanned and sent me the ones the students had filled in. It was fun to see them using both words and pictures! Words were: behavior, banner, special, grumbled, delighted, and project. (Grumbled was my favorite!)
We will meet again on 5/18/26 at 4:15 pm.
