By 2/26/26, Shea will teach decoding strategies (along with the 95% group intervention materials) to her 2nd grade intervention group to improve their reading of CVCe words.

Shea used the data from the Phonics survey PSI level 5 to identify the phonics feature that should be the instructional focus. She will record a lesson of teaching this skill, so we can discuss the students' response on 2/26.

Target Goal:

Shea would like the students to score 90% or higher on the level 5 of the PSI to reach this goal.

Coach Log Note 1:

Shea has been working with her 2nd grade group on CVCe words. She has working on the decoding accuracy as well as the automaticity of recognizing the words as a whole after they have sounded out the individual sounds. Here is her monitoring data from level 5 of the PSI:

N: 10/10 10/10

Edem: 9/10

We felt that collectively the group met 75% of the goal. Students will move to the next lcvel of the instruction of the PSI – level 6. She may move her next goal to another group of fluency or syntax as a goal. She will decide over Spring Break.
