Notes
During a personal check-in, Jennifer shared that she was tired because their big fundraising event was held last night at Boulevard Brewery and she helped with set-up and the event, itself. First Communion for her second graders is coming on Sunday, May 3. Her mother-in-law’s birthday, “was what it was.” ;-). She is planning ahead for Camp Week (more next time) and her son’s graduation from the KU School of Journalism!
They had their last class last Tuesday, and she only has to finish the Application Task for Module 6 – Fluency.
I stated that our major purpose today was to discuss progress toward her student goal of 3 of 4 of her students working on double consonant words would score 9/10. She is seeing progress in their understanding and it is showing up in their reading and their writing. She told me about the “glowing boards” (black with glowing letters that the students love!) that she uses to write words for them to read, for them to write together, and for them to write on their own. I said that was an example of I Do, We Do, You Do, and she said she was trying to remember to do that across areas of instruction.
We talked about a system for her to select, document/remember, plan for, and implement strategies from each area/content in the course. She is hoping that she keeps access to the modules so that she can revisit them as needed.
We will meet for a final call on 5/19/25 at 4:45 pm.
