By the end of May, Adam will successfully complete all of the module application tasks by discussing the information in each module and how it applies to his teaching situation.

Starting Point:

Teach students phonics using the Sprial Up program. Right now students are on l-family blends, have mastered CVC words. Each unit comes with a book and students read the decodable books.

Midpoint:

Module 6, 7, 8 application

Target Goal:

Adam will successfully complete the application tasks for modules 4-12 as required for class.

He is really feeling challenged in how to respond to the application tasks successfully and feels like this would support him in learning the new information.

Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Adam has missed two meeting dates that we have set. One was due to an unexpected parent conference that was needed based on student behavior.

During our last conference, he demonstrated more confidence in the aspects of reading and how to teach them. He noted explicit instruction and comprehension as two areas that had a huge impact on him. He feels like this course has helped him improve his instruction and he is really happy that he took the course.

I would say that he did reach his goal because he completed all of the application tasks for the course.
