Notes
During a personal check-in, Amanda shared that her mom is “better-ish” after being hospitalized. She is still having issues with her blood pressure and just started using insulin for her diabetes. Easter was “fine,” with Tiberius and Georgia both enjoying an Easter Egg Hunt at home and their Easter bucket surprises. (The high school Robotics Team hid their eggs for them as a fundraiser.)
Amanda has done the Module 7 pretest.
I stated that we had two purposes today:Â to talk about her work toward her student-goal and to explore possibilities for her teacher-goal.
Amanda had emailed me two rounds of data for her three students on the Fluency Rubric, along with a video of a Reader’s Theater performance that they gave. They did great and seemed to enjoy themselves! She said that their first audience was a second grade teacher and her group, and when it was over, they asked, “Who can we read to next?” They read for the other second grade teacher and her group, and she gave them specific feedback about their fluency. :-). They they said, “NOW who can we read to?” and they read to a third grade teacher’s class. Amanda said they weren’t as loud (slightly intimidated by older kids), but they still did a great job. 🙂
Ava has improved from 9/16 to 11/16 (on 3/26/26) to 12/16 (on 4/2/26). Mateo has improved from 8/16 to 9/16 (on 3/26/26) and 11/16 (on 4/2/26). Selyane has improved from 9/16 to 11/16 (on 4/2/26). Each student 1) improved by at least two AND 2) reached/exceeded a goal of 10 on the rubric. We are declaring the goal met! However, Amanda will continue her work for another “round” of tiered intervention at her school. Amanda also shared with me the breakdown for each student for each date in the areas of : Expression and Volume, Phrasing, Smoothness, and Pace.
We also talked about what Module content might be most useful for her to focus on in her role as librarian for her teacher goal. She us thinking she will pursue a Vocabulary goal, selecting Tier 2 words from a chapter book she is reading during library lessons and picking a strategy (such as utilizing the Frayer model) for her instruction engaging students. She will be ready to talk about that at our next meeting.
We will meet again on 4/20/26 at 4:15.
