Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

During a personal check-in, Whitney shared that even though Spring Break was over, the students hadn’t been “too crazy!”  Her Master’s Courses for that term are finished, and she is starting the last class for this year.

Course I is complete.

I shared that our primary purpose was to discuss the work she had been doing toward her goal.  She said that she had printed out some of the games/activities we had found on fcrr.org and that they were a “hit” with students.  They enjoyed the manipulative aspect of the games.  She has watched some videos and is very aware of the impact that multi-sensory instruction has on learning.  She meets with her group 3x/week.  They start with sound mapping, stretch the words, write in El Konin boxes, and highlight and read short passages containing words with the pattern she is teaching.  We looked at fcrr.org and identified some new games to support the sound of hard and soft c and g.

We discussed what her next goal (teacher-oriented) might be, and she thinks she may want to work in the area of Writing.

We will meet again on 4/7/26 at 3:00 pm.
