We discussed the coursework, and she said everything is going well.
We discussed how I could support her with the focus area of phonic routines.
She is using the Wiley Blevins Differentiated Phonics Instruction, and she would like to focus on those 8 routines discussed in the book.
She would like all her students to increase to the 5th percentile, but that would be hard to create a 4-point attainment wit hall of her students, so she decided on this goal.
Goal
By December 3, I will consistently implement a planned sequence of explicit phonics routines in my first- and second-grade groups to strengthen students’ decoding and word recognition. I will document the routines used each week and use brief student reading checks to adjust instruction.
Next time we will discuss the routines.
