Coach Log Note 1:
This was my first meeting with Edna. She has spent the majority of her teaching in elementary, but has recently taken a position as a PreK teacher. Her main question is how does she know that she is teaching in a developmentally appropriate way. What are the expectations of preschool? How is her teaching more like elementary school?
I encouraged her to go back to the Oral Language and PA module to categorize things that she knows, what is she unsure about, and then what is unknown.
The initial thoughts about a goal are related to solidifying her knowledge of the expectations of development in PreK and feeling confident about that information.
