Anson and I briefly talked about how the instructional coach is used in his building. In his distict each building has an instructional coach that works with 1-6 teachers and a specific Kindergarten coach that is district wide. Since he is new to the district, he met with the coach during the first semester.
He just found out today that he will be moving to second grade next year. He is excited since that is the grade he previously taught. That led us into creating his impact goal – he is going to really focus on using vocabulary strategies learned in the class to increase the amount of time spent and make connection to the vocabulary from the Wit and Wisdom lessons.
I added his goal and we are going to use the remaining sessions to discuss what he’s learned and can use in his classroom next year.
