Samantha has been digging into the morpheme project that was introduced last class by Carla Chaves. She is adding 3-5 minutes of instruction using the slides to increase the morphology instruction and practice.
Samantha is going to teach using precise vocabulary today with the movement game 4 corners. She is going to give 4 sentences and students will have to determine which sentence is complete and also uses precise vocabulary. From there they are going to edit their writing from yesterday and add precise vocabulary. We discussed what an easy way to determine if students are mastering the skill by just observing.
She will progress monitor her group one more time and will send me the results. She really feels like through whole group and small group discussions, her students are catching onto figurative language, especially inferencing.
