Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

We met on March 9. Sheri said that she had benefited from the resources that I sent, as well as, the information in the class. She almost felt overwhelmed by the amount of information she is now receiving on literacy instruction. She would like to make a goal for a small group of 3 students who she works with every day in a reading intervention class. She has found that the students have no understanding of the alphabetic principle and she wants them to use it to improve their accuracy in reading. She wants to go back to the basics and work on initial digraphs and 2 consonant blends in a one syllable word. At this point her students simply guess at words. She will be using various multisensory types of instruction to help her students apply the alphabetic principle to the words they read. She will be collecting data every Friday from a list of 10 one syllable nonsense words to track their progress.

Next Steps

To Do: She will send a video and data that has been collected until our next session.
