Notes
Rachel was still struggling to organize the students into quadrants, so we discussed where to place each student’s data. She then asked, how to use the data in her classroom and where to use this data.
We discussed the following options:
- We discussed how this data can be used in her core instruction by structuring how students work and engage with the text. We discussed the LETRS comprehension planning guide and how she might use that to get away from teaching isolated skills.
- She has 80 minutes for Shared reading, vocabulary, background knowledge, word work, and small group time.
- We discussed that currently her writing and grammar are in a separate blocks and ways to marry the reading and writing.
- During her Tier 2 time, she really does not have guidance on what to do with her student or how to structure that time.
- She has 30 minutes and a list of phonic resources that she could be using.
Next time, she asked if we could discuss ways to organize her Tier 2 time. She is checking building requirements in resources or skill requirements. We will spend the next meeting developing a structure based on her data needs.
