Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

C –

Jessica has started working on Module 4.  She also needs to complete the Quadrant assignment.

She is working toward the development of a decoding and encoding goal that she can address through the Wilson program.  We spent time discussing the Wilson lessons and instructional sequences.  We addressed challenges in her ability to support all three lesson blocks through explicit instruction.  She sees her students for 45 minutes each day, but she cannot individualize instruction.  Her 11 grade 6 students with special needs are all assigned to her during a single class period. (Her total caseload is 16 students).  Their needs vary from behavioral to cognitive ranges, to literacy needs.  We discussed her use of the paraprofessional in her class and student rotation between her direct instruction and para support.

T –

Jessica is using the Wilson Program to work on the decoding skills of 6 students in her class.  We developed a goal to match the sequence of skills taught over a semester.  We also brainstormed ways to rotate individual and smaller groups through two days rather than all in one lesson period.
