Notes
Sheri was concerned about her students’ ability to write a 5 sentence paragraph. She ordered the book, Writing Revolution 2.0 to help her come up with an instructional outline on how to effectively teach her students how to write a paragraph. She wanted her instruction to be sequential and explicit but was getting no guidance on an appropriate curriculum from her district. She knew that she would have to come up with an appropriate instructional plan on her own. After consulting with some resources at the end of the course and listening to Dr. Myers, she settled on purchasing the Writing Revolution book to help her develop an instructional outline that would be appropriate for the 5th grade students in her ELA class. All of her students have learning disabilities and she wants to be sure that her instruction is appropriate for them. She is excited about starting this goal because she feels it will be very valuable to her in the upcoming school year. Last year, she felt lost and aimless in her instruction and was not pleased with the progress her students made.
