Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

Coachee just completed module one since she was a bit delayed in enrolling in the course. She absolutely loved module one and felt like she was able to review to the Simple View of Reading Concept at parent/teacher conferences.

She said the dyslexia simulation at the face-to-face class really impacted how she view dyslexia and revealed to her some of her misconceptions. It also helped her relate to what a few of her students are experiencing.  She referred to what Olathe uses for writing – Units of Study and said that she feels like she needs to make some adjustments in helping a few of her students access the lesson, including scribing for those who haven’t learned to write their letters/sounds.

The rest of our time was spent on setting her goal for the first half of the course. She is focusing on Phonemic Awareness for a small group of students.
