Melissa expressed that it has been a busy couple of weeks and tomorrow she is getting a new student. She only has 14 in her 1st grade class so not too bad. She has been working on her Modules and is now up to the pre test for Module 3. She hopes to work on more through this week.
She talked about her thoughts on a problem of practice. She is working on phonics patterns and spelling with her class but when they write the dictated sentences they struggle with correctly spelling the pattern and patterns they have already learned so application. We thought we could use that for a goal. On Friday, she is going to do her weekly dictation sentence and score 8/8 for spelling correct words, capitalization and punctuation and also 5/5 on vowel patterns. We will use that as our baseline. The students that are the lowest and are not doing well she will choose for this intervention goal. We will set our percentages and goal from there.
