Notes

Coach Log Note 1:

During a personal check-in, Kim said her break and family were good.

When asked about coursework, she said, “It’s great.”  She needs her Application Tasks for 3 & 4 scored in order to get feedback and see if she is on the right track before doing any more.  She has looked through Modules 5 & 6.

I stated that our purposes today were to finalize her goal and goal stages and to identify new strategies/resources for instruction toward her goal.

We finalized her goal to be in the area of phonological and phonemic awareness (the early portion starting with Concept of Spoken Word which is most appropriate for her preschoolers).

She did not have an assessment that went that low, so we decided to use the assessment from Sounds in Action, which I have at home.  We looked at some of the activities found in the book.

She will plan for her instruction to be I Do/We Do/You Do and to involve multiple senses and kinesthetic options.  She said that she had found the videos in Module 4 to be helpful in providing visual support for diverse learners.

We also looked at some activities from fcrr.org (instruction/games/practice).

After the call, I sent screen shots of the assessment sections she will be using, as well as the activities from Sounds in Action for Concept of Word, Syllable Blending, Syllable Segmentation, and Syllable Deletion.
