Notes
Courtney is an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at Whitson. Of her 23 years years in SPED, !5 has been preK.
She currently has 2 ½ day programs with a total of 34 students. Previously she had 4 “peer models” in each class but this year she is piloting with additional students to make it a more early childhood class, She still has identified students but the non identified students are receiving more direct instruction.
Courtney has 4 children and a brand new grandbaby. She shared the story of her son, that is a 19 year old twin, that is autistic and nonverbal. She can relate to families with children with special needs. I could tell she was very passionate about what she does.
She said she loves her job!!
Through email we set up all 8 meetings.
Our next scheduled meeting is 9/23 @ 11:30
