Coach Log Note 1:

During a personal check-in, Lori shared that she has been fighting cold.  Of course, she has taken no time off – it’s conference week and her schedule is pretty packed with six conferences on Monday, five on Tuesday, and seven on Wednesday.  She said the Valentine’s Party was good.  <3

When asked about coursework, she said it was good.  For Module 3’s Application Task she taught a leson using the KU lesson plan, and has started Module 4.   She said that she got good feedback for her case study work.  She talked about I Do, We Do, and You Do, and she said, “I’m getting reminders.”

I shared that our primary purpose was to explore an area of inquiry for establishing her goal and instructional plans.  She talked about two different groups of her students (Holden-Skill 6, Brighton-Skill 6, and Obadiah-Skill 5) who are already getting a double-dip in phonics.  She thinks she will work with Sophia and Delta, who score well on skills tests, but are not fluent readers, because, as she said, “They don’t get any of me,” during MTSS time.  They have established a process for doing fluency work with a 5th grader.

By the next time we meet on 2/24/26, she will have rated them on the fluency rubric found within Module 6 and will be ready to set a goal.
